Short, because we collect little
Who we are. Tributary (tributary.org.uk) provides funding prospects, tools and training to small UK charities.
What we collect. Only what you type into our forms: your name, email, charity name and the details you choose to share (such as your cause, area or tool results you email to yourself). We don't run advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The site uses your browser's local storage for one thing: remembering that you're a member on this device.
Why we collect it. To run your membership, send you the things you asked for (library access, tool reports, briefings, replies) and occasionally tell you about genuinely relevant Tributary features. Lawful basis: performing our agreement with you, and legitimate interests for service updates.
What we never do. Sell your data. Share it with third parties for their marketing. Email you fluff. Every email includes a working unsubscribe, honoured immediately.
Where it lives. Form submissions and member records are stored on our own UK-hosted server, with email delivered from our own domain, under standard security measures.
Your rights. Ask us any time to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Use the contact form on the homepage. If we ever disappoint you, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
If we contacted you on behalf of a charity
Tributary makes one-to-one business approaches to companies on behalf of small UK charity clients, as their disclosed professional fundraiser. If you received one: we hold your name, role and work contact details, gathered from public business sources such as your company's website and Companies House. We use them under the lawful basis of legitimate interests to make relevant, proportionate business approaches about charitable partnership. We only contact incorporated organisations at work addresses, never private individuals.
Our approach emails contain no tracking pixels. Links in them route via our server so we can tell which organisations showed interest, and we share that with the charity concerned so it can prioritise its follow up. Say "no thanks" to any message, or use its unsubscribe link, and we stop contacting you across all our campaigns immediately, and the charity is told not to contact you either. You can also object, or ask to see or delete your details, via the contact form or hello@tributary.org.uk. Every approach we send names the charity benefiting and what we are paid, as required by the Charities Act 1992.
